Houck.law was founded by Tracy Houck over 20 years ago. Mr. Houck is an attorney with a background in police investigations, psychology, as well as civil and criminal trial experience. Mr. Houck also serves as an Assistant District Attorney for the 3rd Judicial District Court under District Attorney John F.K. Belton.
Ruston, Louisiana is a quaint college town in north Louisiana.  Ruston is known for its fantastic peach farms, picturesque downtown, and Louisiana Tech University.  Some of the area's best assets are its excellent public and private school systems, as well as its proximity to other cities like the Shreveport/Bossier area, Dallas, Baton Rouge, and Atlanta.

Tracy Houck is a catastrophic injury, family law, and estate planning lawyer in Louisiana. Tracy is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Masters of Arts in Industrial Organization Psychology. While working as a Louisiana State Trooper, Tracy decided to pursue his law degree. He graduated from Southern University Law School in 1999. While in law school he worked as a law clerk in the criminal division of the Louisiana Department of Justice. During his third year of law school, Tracy became a Gaming Division Agent/Detective with the Louisiana State Police working with the FBI, DEA, Department of the Treasury, U.S. Customs and U.S. Attorney. 


Tracy first tenure at the Third Judicial District Attorney’s Office began in 1999 as an Investigator and advanced to Assistant District Attorney where he prosecuted felonies and misdemeanors. As his law practice grew, he left to concentrate on major tort litigation. 


Tracy again joined the Third Judicial District Attorney's Office in 2015 as an Assistant District Attorney in charge of Appellant and Post Convictions. He has successfully tried numerous felony cases, including the prosecution of offenses such as armed robbery, aggravated rape, and murder.  Tracy now serves as a felony prosecutor for this office.


Tracy has been in civil practice since 2000 when he opened his own civil litigation practices in Ruston and Baton Rouge. He has litigated over 120 jury and bench trials in his litigation career, including civil and criminal prosecution. He has obtained personal injury settlements exceeding $61,000,000.00. He has handed hundreds of cases in federal courts in Louisiana, Ohio, Georgia and West Virginia. His appellate practice includes successful writs to the Second Circuit Court of Appeal, the Louisiana Supreme Court and United States Fifth Circuit. 


Tracy has been an Associate Professor at Grambling State University and is also a frequent lecturer for fellow attorneys and at civic organizations on topics of elder law, estate planning, elder abuse, and product liability.

 

Tracy is active in the Ruston community. He is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, Ruston Bar Association, National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, charter member of the Louisiana Association of Consumer Advocates, as well as Ruston Rotary Club. Tracy serves on the boards of T.R.I.A.D of Lincoln Parish, SALT (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together), and Reeves Memorial Hospital. Tracy is a member of the Temple Baptist Church. He is married to the former Angela Foster and resides in Dubach, where they are raising their two children, Lauren, a senior at Louisiana Tech, and Anna, a junior at Louisiana Tech.
